Diablo IV Patch 3.2.3: Season of Hell’s Legacy Splinter Fix and Horadric Cube Rerolls

Diablo IV Patch 3.2.3 Is Live

Blizzard deployed Diablo IV Patch 3.2.3 (Build #73883) to all platforms on October 14, 2026. It is a maintenance patch, but it closes the most damaging bug of the 30th-anniversary Season of Hell’s Legacy: Prime Evil Splinters used too early, locking characters out of the seasonal questline.

The Splinter Quest Lock: Fixed Going Forward

Before this patch, a character could use a Splinter of a Prime Evil before completing the seasonal questline. That blocked the questline and access to Prime Evil Powers. Patch 3.2.3 prevents it from happening again, but it does not repair characters that are already bugged.

Blizzard’s workaround: create a new character in the same partition (Normal/Hardcore and Normal/SSF) and complete the seasonal questline on it. That unlocks Prime Evil Powers for every character in that partition.

Horadric Cube Rerolls Restored

Several affixes could not be re-rolled with the Horadric Cube. These now work:

  • Impairment Reduction
  • Barrier Generation
  • +Healing
  • Critical Strike Damage

Boss and Dungeon Fixes

  • Baal: Tyrael’s spawn point after the fight no longer makes Baal’s loot hard to pick up.
  • Sandstone Golem (Horadric Library): the boss now respawns correctly if you die during the fight.
  • The Countess (Forgotten Tower): she can no longer pass through the fog wall and stall the encounter.
  • Necromancer: all monsters now drop Unbroken Bones during the class mechanic quest Call of the Underworld.

The patch also carries general stability, performance, visual and UI improvements.

What 3.2.3 Does Not Change

The notes say nothing about Splinter stacking, which players are still asking for. GamesRadar+ flagged the same gap. Plan your Splinter choice accordingly.

Catch-Up: Patch 3.2.2 (September 30)

If you skipped the previous patch, Build #73764 fixed, among other things:

  • A seasonal questline block if the Worldstone Chamber portal was entered too quickly
  • Chamber of Bone not granting rewards
  • The Edge Runeword granting two items at once from the Purveyor of Curiosities
  • Nihlathak teleporting outside the boss arena
  • Henri’s Perquisition Unique Charm not being craftable in the Horadric Cube
  • Druid Pulverize indefinitely immobilizing Staggered bosses; Sorcerer Incinerate Enchantment burns not triggering the Tal rune; the Sol rune’s damage reduction not activating
