Welcome to the RUIN gaming Community! Established in 2004. Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Patreon The RUIN community meets every Tuesday at 6PM Pacific Standard Time on Discord to recognize outstanding members for promotion, discuss gaming news, events and scheduling for the upcoming week. The community came together during the 2004 launch of World of Warcraft. The guild assumed the name RUIN during the Warhammer Online campaign which culminated in the World First Inevitable City conquest.
From RUIN’s vantage, New World was a battlefield we entered with high command—Lumberyard’s raw power, 913K concurrent players, and a Marauder Coalition that ultimately crushed YS server under unified banners following a hard fought campaign. We stormed forts, toppled economies, and delivered a decisive victory in the “Battle for New World Campaign” before the first winter. To every RUIN officer, citizen, and ally—especially Towelliee, Bajheera and the Marauder war council—your precision and sacrifice wrote the only success story Amazon ever printed. To the rank-and-file devs at Amazon Game Studios who pulled all-nighters patching dupes, balancing turrets, and pushing 1.0.1 live at 3 AM PT: your craft was never the issue. You built a cathedral with the tools you were handed.
The collapse was not one of code or talent, but of leadership vision. New World never decided what it wanted to be—Roanoke’s hardcore survival sandbox or a true three-faction MMORPG—and so it became neither. Amazon ignored the battle-tested blueprints we waved in their faces: Cirodiil’s siegeable keeps, Eternal Battlegrounds’ cross-server mega-zones, EVE’s player councils, even SWTOR’s late-blooming open-world flashpoints. Instead of studying why those systems sustain 100v100 battles at 60 FPS with reward loops that keep guilds logging in a decade later, leadership chased quarterly “seasons” and console ports while the core PvP loop remained a placeholder flag on a hill. The engine could have carried 200v200-player battles at 144 Hz; the roadmap never asked it to. We left YS in December 2021 not in defeat, but in strategic victory—territory held, banners raised, community intact. Four years later, Amazon’s maintenance-mode eulogy proves what we diagnosed in real time: without a clear end-state model and the humility to copy proven winners, even a $500M war chest ends in a ghost town. RUIN thanks every soul who fought with us, built with us, and believed in Aeternum’s promise. The failure was never yours. It was a failure to lead with sovereignty—and that lesson now belongs to every studio still daring to launch an MMORPG. Another year, another star system. CitizenCon 2955, held on October 11, 2025, in Manchester, UK, featured the annual “CitizenCon Direct” presentation from Roberts Space Industries (RSI). The event focused on expanding the Star Citizen universe with new exploration opportunities, gameplay mechanics, and hardware reveals. Key themes included planetary tech advancements, player-driven content creation, dynamic combat, and the persistent push toward a more interconnected ‘verse. No firm release dates were given for Star Citizen 1.0 or Squadron 42, but the roadmap emphasized iterative progress through Alpha updates. Below, I’ll break down the major announcements by category, drawing from official RSI recaps, developer panels, and community breakdowns.New Ships and VehiclesThe “Captains of Industry” panel revisited base-building tools while unveiling three new ships, emphasizing modular designs for industrial and combat roles. Another year, another star system. That’s right! We kicked off this year’s CitizenCon Direct with the exciting announcement of our third star system, Nyx, a place with its own communities, conflicts, and catastrophes. Not to mention, the launch of three new and uniquely awesome ships. While Amelia Boyd has remained at large, chaos has reigned in Pyro, with the social-minded Citizens for Prosperity battling to keep residents safe and the criminally inclined Headhunters vying for blood. The Frontier Fighters took another massive step in their extreme grab for power when they stole an RSI Polaris, a combat-focused capital ship, from the UEE’s Invictus Launch Week expo earlier this year. Welcome to RUIN Gaming! Join one of the best gaming communities on Twitch, stop by the stream chat and Discord! Thank you to all of our long-time members and supporters! RUIN Gaming Announces Launch of New Twitch Livestreaming and Multi-Media Studio Current Focus: Star Citizen march to 1.0 Dune Awakening, World of Warcraft legacy campaign conclusion in the Worldsoul Saga, we have additional areas of interest in a variety of upcoming MMORPGS! Completing the Worldsoul Saga: RUIN Gaming, a multi-gaming community founded in 2004 with over 13,000 Discord members, is concluding its 20-year engagement with World of Warcraft (WoW) through the Worldsoul Saga, a narrative arc spanning The War Within (2024), Midnight (2026), and The Last Titan (2027), led by Blizzard’s Chris Metzen. This saga marks the culmination of WoW’s storyline, and RUIN is mobilizing for its epilogue by leading raids and limited PvP events, particularly with the Mists of Pandaria Classic launch (July 21, 2025), in collaboration with the Alliance guild <BIGPVP>. Due to Blizzard’s insufficient investment in PvP (e.g., no new Epic Battlegrounds since Wrath of the Lich King and an underperforming War Mode) and WoW’s outdated game engine, RUIN is scaling back to minimal PvE operations on the Stormrage server, closing all Classic and most Retail branches. This strategic closure allows RUIN to honor WoW’s legacy while redirecting resources to emerging MMORPGs. Transition to New MMORPGs: RUIN is actively exploring Star Citizen and Ashes of Creation for large-scale community campaigns, alongside Dune Awakening, as part of a strategic pivot from legacy titles like WoW and Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), which is being sunset post-Broadsword transfer. The guild is preparing for Star Citizen’s 1.0 launch and Ashes of Creation’s Alpha testing, focusing on large-scale PvP, logistics, and base-building. RUIN’s community engagement remains strong through weekly Tuesday meetings at 6 PM PST, where they plan events like BlizzCon 2025 and CitizenCon 2026, recognize member promotions, and gather feedback via Discord and the WoW Content Survey. The RUIN Studio Project amplifies this transition through Twitch and YouTube streams, showcasing campaigns and supported by Patreon funding for leadership training, streaming equipment, and Discord infrastructure. Why Star Citizen and Ashes of Creation are Ideal: Star Citizen and Ashes of Creation are ideal for RUIN’s focus on large-scale PvP, logistics, base-building, and war gaming due to their advanced technical frameworks and dynamic gameplay. Star Citizen’s server-meshed, seamless universe, built on the Lumberyard engine with 64-bit precision, supports planet-sized playspaces and integrated FPS-spaceflight combat, enabling cinematic fleet battles with assets like the RSI Polaris and coordinated ground assaults. Its physics-based flight model and player-driven economy create a sandbox where skill and strategy drive territorial conquests, as seen in RUIN’s Alpha 4.2.1 Foundation Festival operations. Ashes of Creation, powered by Unreal Engine 5.6, features a node-based system that fosters guild-led PvP and siege warfare, requiring logistics for resource management and base-building to control dynamic, player-influenced worlds. Both games reward RUIN’s expertise in coalition-building, tactical coordination, and community-driven engagements, positioning the guild to dominate competitive landscapes and shape virtual worlds. Executive Summary: RUIN Gaming Guild Meeting  RUIN a multi-gaming community founded in 2004 with over 13,000 Discord members, is strategically shifting from legacy MMORPGs like World of Warcraft (WoW) and Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) to emerging titles such as Star Citizen, Ashes of Creation, and Dune Awakening. This transition, prompted by Blizzard’s limited PvP support and WoW’s outdated engine, involves reducing WoW to minimal PvE on the Stormrage server, closing Classic and most Retail branches, and ending SWTOR support post-Broadsword transfer. RUIN aims to dominate competitive landscapes in new MMORPGs, leveraging modern engines like Unreal Engine 5.6 and Lumberyard for large-scale PvP and community-driven engagements.

RUIN GUILD MEETING UPDATE 2025 Policy Overview: STRATEGIC SITUATION Current Operations and Transition Context
 Reasons for Strategic Realignment
STRATEGIC SHIFTS AND NEW OPERATIONAL FOCUS Executive Summary RUIN Gaming, a multi-gaming community founded in 2004, is at a pivotal moment as it concludes its engagement with World of Warcraft’s (WoW) at the end of the World Soul Saga, ending a 20-year narrative arc under Chris Metzen’s direction. Due to Blizzard Entertainment’s limited investment in WoW’s PvP capabilities and its outdated game engine, RUIN is scaling back operations to minimal PvE activities on the Stormrage server, closing all Classic branches and most Retail branches. Support for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is also being terminated following its transfer to Broadsword. This strategic realignment shifts resources toward emerging MMORPGs, including Star Citizen, Ashes of Creation, and Dune Awakening, with a focus on large-scale PvP and community-driven engagements. To support this transition, RUIN is actively recruiting, developing leadership, and fundraising, while leveraging its new RUIN Studio Project to enhance community engagement through Twitch livestreaming and multimedia content. This week, RUIN is heavily focused on Dune Awakening and Star Citizen’s Alpha 4.2, capitalizing on recent updates to strengthen their presence in these titles. In Dune Awakening, RUIN is active on the Wrath Server (Sietch Hajar), engaging in the game’s recent launch and patch 1.1.0.15, which addressed PvP balance and server stability issues. The guild is navigating the Deep Desert’s PvP-heavy endgame, despite community concerns about griefing and ornithopter exploits, and is testing the Public Test Client for patch 1.1.10.0 to prepare for upcoming PvE enhancements. In Star Citizen, RUIN is participating in the Alpha 4.2.1 Foundation Festival, emphasizing mentorship and cooperative gameplay, and leveraging the revamped Wikelo mission rewards and UEE Navy patrols to enhance their fleet operations with assets like the RSI Polaris. These efforts aim to establish RUIN as a dominant force in both games’ competitive landscapes. RUIN’s community, with over 13,000 Discord members, remains a cornerstone of its operations, fostering engagement through weekly meetings and events like “Patron Thursday” and “Friday RUIN after Dark,” which encourage camaraderie across titles like Destiny 2 and Grand Theft Auto V. The guild’s media presence is bolstered by the RUIN Studio Project, with active content creation on YouTube, Twitch, and Patreon, showcasing their campaigns in Dune Awakening and Star Citizen. By immersing members in the rich lore of these games and leveraging modern game engines like Unreal Engine for Ashes of Creation and Lumberyard for Star Citizen, RUIN is positioning itself at the forefront of virtual operational innovation. The guild’s focus on leadership training and financial contributions ensures mission readiness, aiming to sustain its reputation as a leading multi-gaming community. RUIN will continue to encourage our community members to branch out into the full spectrum of online multiplayer games through our Summer 2021-2023 Campaign. Serving a mission that is greater than gear score. Large parts of the RUIN community are deliberately moving away from Activision Blizzard games towards more modern alternatives. You can mine ore, haul cargo, salvage space wrecks, hunt bounties, become a mercenary, or even take up a life of crime. Fly and drive a vast variety of vehicles and play how you want to play – the possibilities are endless. RSI Polaris Guild Ship With massive torpedoes designed to take out much larger ships, a small-craft hangar, and a military-standard med bay, the Polaris is capable of single-handedly keeping your local star system safe and secure. The event also highlighted RUIN’s organizational prowess and community engagement, as they hosted access to Orbital Lazer Platforms, unveiling an array of powerful weapons and new armor variants/cosmetics. The operation wasn’t just a logistical success—it was a spectacle of memorable PvP clashes, drawing in international organizations and prominent YouTubers and livestreamers. RUIN’s ability to field multiple well-crewed capital ships alongside fighter aircraft underscored their dominance in high-stakes engagements, cementing their reputation as a formidable force in the game’s competitive landscape. RUIN Gaming is at a critical juncture in its history as we conclude our engagement with the World of Warcraft (WoW) World Soul Saga, marking the end of twenty years of narrative under the narrative direction of Chris Metzen. This closure signals not only the completion of a significant chapter but also the initiation of a strategic realignment toward emerging massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), including Star Citizen, Ashes of Creation, and Dune Awakening. This shift is driven by Blizzard Entertainment’s insufficient investment in WoW’s player-versus-player (PvP) capabilities and outdated game engine. RUIN Gaming will reduce WoW operations to minimal player-versus-environment (PvE) activities on the Stormrage server, closing all Classic branches and most Retail branches. Concurrently, active support for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) will cease following its transfer to Broadsword. Recruitment, leadership development, and financial support initiatives are underway to ensure mission readiness for operations in new MMORPGs, focusing on large-scale PvP and community-driven engagements.
