Valheim 1.0 Has Arrived: The Deep North Opens and Ruin Gaming’s Private Server Is ReadyAfter more than five years in Early Access, Valheim has officially reached version 1.0. On September 9, 2026, Iron Gate Studio and Coffee Stain Publishing released the long-awaited full version of the Viking survival game, complete with its final major biome: the Deep North. For the members of Ruin Gaming (and anyone following along on Ruinnation.com), this is more than just another update. Our private server has been updated and is open for org members. Whether you’re returning after a long break or diving in for the first time since the Ashlands, the tenth realm is colder, larger, and more dangerous than ever. What Is Valheim 1.0?
Valheim launched into Early Access in February 2021 and quickly became one of the biggest indie success stories of the decade. Over the following years, Iron Gate steadily added major biomes (Mistlands, Ashlands) and quality-of-life systems. Version 1.0 marks the end of that Early Access chapter and the beginning of the game’s full release era. Alongside the version number change, Valheim also launched on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time, with full cross-play across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch 2. The centerpiece of the update is the Deep North — a vast frozen region at the northern edge of the map. Iron Gate has described it as significantly larger and more content-dense than previous biomes. Expect perpetual snow, slippery ice, abandoned villages, new dungeons, and threats that have been left undisturbed for ages. Major New Content in Valheim 1.0Here is a clear overview of the biggest additions based on the official patch notes: New Biome & World Content
Combat & Equipment
Creatures & Bosses
Building & Crafting
Quality of Life & Systems
Existing worlds remain compatible. New biome content generates properly in areas that have not yet been explored. Iron Gate still strongly recommends starting a fresh world if you want the cleanest and most complete 1.0 experience. Important notes for members:
Server rules remain the same: respect other members, no griefing, and keep the community spirit strong. Leadership will post any schedule for group expeditions into the Deep North once more people are online. What Should You Do First?
The Deep North is designed as the culmination of everything that came before. The journey will be longer and harsher, but that is exactly why we play Valheim together. Final Words from RuinValheim has always been about the shared saga — the longships, the failed expeditions, the ridiculous builds, and the hard-won victories. Version 1.0 does not end that story; it simply opens the final chapter of the original vision. The private server is open. The snow is falling. The Deep North is waiting. Grab your axe, check Discord for the server details, and come join the rest of Ruin Gaming in the tenth realm. Skål, Vikings. See you in the frozen wastes. — The Ruin Gaming Team www.Ruinnation.com |
