GUILD MEETING ARCHIVES

The RUIN community meets every Tuesday at 6PM Pacific on Discord to recognize outstanding members, discuss gaming intelligence, coordinate operations, and organize upcoming events.

The community came together during the 2004 launch of World of Warcraft. The guild assumed the name RUIN during the Warhammer Online campaign, which culminated in the World First Inevitable City conquest. For more than two decades, RUIN has stood for large-scale coordinated gameplay, loyalty, and pushing the boundaries of what guilds can achieve in MMOs.

Special Edition: World of Warcraft: Forever — The Return to Azeroth

Blizzard’s official Deep Dive presents the core vision for World of Warcraft: Forever as a permanent expansion of original Azeroth. The presentation covers new zones, race and class combinations, class tuning, and the long-term design philosophy behind the game. Members should watch it to understand the official direction before launch.

World of Warcraft Forever Comprehensive AI Deep Dive

Executive Summary — The Eve of a New Beginning

Tomorrow, November 4, 2026, World of Warcraft: Forever officially launches globally at 3:00 PM Pacific. This is an important moment for RUIN. Our community’s history began with the original World of Warcraft in 2004. The launch of Forever provides an opportunity to return to the game that helped establish our community while introducing a substantially expanded version of original Azeroth.

Blizzard describes Forever as a permanent home alongside modern and Classic World of Warcraft. It is not simply another seasonal Classic server. The development philosophy is to preserve the foundations of original Warcraft while expanding the world, classes, systems, quests, and social experiences over time.

Our immediate priority is to establish a coordinated presence, prepare our PvP players, organize class and role resources, and provide members with a reliable source of information as the game evolves.

Launch schedule:

  • Early Name Reservation: October 27–November 3, 2026.
  • Official launch: November 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM Pacific (5:00 PM Central / 23:00 UTC).
  • First major raid opening: December 9, 2026.
  • Level cap: 60.

Official launch announcement: World of Warcraft: Forever Goes Live Globally November 4!

Immediate Action Orders

  1. Character and Guild Preparation: Complete Early Name Reservation before the deadline, confirm ruleset and faction with guildmates, and verify character names under the two-part naming structure.
  2. World PvP Readiness: Confirm PvP or Roleplay-PvP rulesets, identify open-world PvP forces, and establish class and role coordination.
  3. Class and Progression Preparation: Review Blizzard’s final development notes, recheck talent builds, choose professions, and standardize launch UI and addons.
  4. Community Growth: Welcome returning veterans and new members, share builds, and keep onboarding accessible.

1. World of Warcraft: Forever — Understanding the Game

A Permanent New Chapter for Original Azeroth

Set after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, Forever retains core classic mechanics (no flying mounts, no level scaling, strict geography) while adding over 1,000 new quests, reimagined zones, and expanded race and class options.

New Regions and Exploration

  • Mount Hyjal: Exploring Darkwhisper Gorge and participating in the recovery after Archimonde’s defeat.
  • Shen’dralas: Connects Mulgore and Desolace with Eldre’Thalas, Dire Maul, and centaur faction lore.
  • The Riverglades: Over 150 new mid-level (35–45) quests in a lush frontier grassland.
  • Zephras Isle: New 1–12 starting experience for Skyborne characters.

New Race and Class Combinations

  • Orc Mage, Troll Warlock, Undead Paladin, Human Hunter, Gnome Priest, Dwarf Shaman, and Skyborne.
  • Skyborne Factions: Windshapers (Horde Shamans) and High-Order (Alliance Mages).

Class Design & Final Development Changes

Blizzard increased damage across classes and raised creature health at higher levels to compensate, preserving distinctive class identity without forcing identical performance budgets. Total class ability training costs from 1–60 have been adjusted to approximately 206–207 gold.

2. Rulesets, Character Names, and Guild Organization

Ruleset Structure

Players select from Normal, PvP, Roleplay, and Roleplay-PvP. Hardcore will arrive post-launch. Characters cannot be transferred between Normal and PvP rulesets, making pre-launch ruleset alignment critical. Grouping, dungeons, and raids require characters to be on the same ruleset.

3. Essential Day 1 Addons, Mods, and UI Infrastructure

Because the WoW: Forever client runs on the updated modern engine, UI frames benefit from modern API changes. Based on comprehensive testing and creator deep dives, RUIN has standardized a high-utility addon suite.

Bellular Warcraft’s Day 1 Addon Guide reviews the most practical quality-of-life and interface addons available for the Forever launch client. The video covers Dialogue Key, bag management, auction tools, quest presentation, and navigation utilities that improve efficiency without violating the modern addon restrictions. Members should use it as a starting reference while verifying that each addon has an active Forever-compatible release.

Core QOL & Interaction Utilities

  • Dialogue Key: Maps Spacebar and number keys directly to quest accept and complete prompts.
  • Dialogue UI & Forever Quest Tint: Book-style quest frames with light-blue highlighting for Forever-exclusive quests.
  • Enhanced QOL (EQOL): Fast auto-looting, minimap binning, class buff reminders, auto-repair, and vendor trash rules.

Inventory, Economy & Spell Progression

  • Baggonator / Baganator: Category-based bag and bank organization.
  • Auctionator: One-click listing, profit-margin checks, and recipe tracking.
  • What’s Training?: Spellbook tab showing future trainer costs and level requirements.
  • Dungeon Journal: In-game loot tables and strategy browser for Classic dungeons.

Navigation, Combat & Immersion

  • Chattonator: Lightweight chat frame overhaul.
  • Questy & Gather Light: Objective overlays and gathering route assistance.
  • Details! or equivalent: Combat statistics where supported by the client.
  • Spoken: Optional AI voiceover narration for quest text.

4. World PvP — RUIN’s Primary Competitive Focus

The official launch cinematic trailer for World of Warcraft: Forever establishes the tone and visual identity of the expanded original Azeroth. It highlights the return to classic landscapes while introducing new regions and the Skyborne race. Members should watch it to understand the atmosphere and scale of the world they will enter on November 4.

Strategic Environment & Layering Coordination

Open-world PvP centers on territorial control, resource defense, and limiting enemy progression in contested zones such as Stranglethorn Vale, Hillsbrad, and Silithus.

7. RUIN World of Warcraft: Forever Field Guide — PvP, Leveling, Professions, Addons, and Intelligence Resources

World of Warcraft: Forever is a large new undertaking for RUIN. Members need more than a launch checklist: they need practical guidance for surviving the world, developing characters, supporting one another, and understanding the systems that will shape progression from level 1 to 60.

This guide establishes a starting library of recommended resources for World PvP, leveling, professions, addons, class development, and ongoing game intelligence. It combines official Blizzard information with specialist guides and experienced community creators.

Editorial standard: Blizzard is the authority for official game mechanics and announcements. Independent creators and guide sites provide analysis, routes, builds, and practical advice. Beta observations, datamined information, theorycrafting, and untested launch recommendations must be identified as such.

7.1. The First Decision: Ruleset, Faction, and Guild Coordination

Before creating a character, members should coordinate with their intended guildmates. Forever uses Rulesets rather than traditional individual realms. Each Ruleset is its own player ecosystem, and cross-ruleset grouping is not supported for normal group activities, dungeons, and raids.

  • Normal: A traditional adventuring environment where players can choose when to participate in PvP.
  • PvP: An environment where open-world conflict is an expected part of travel through contested and enemy territory.
  • Roleplay: A ruleset with additional naming and behavior expectations for roleplaying communities.
  • Roleplay-PvP: Combines roleplaying expectations with the open-world PvP environment.
  • Hardcore: Planned for a later release, with permanent character-death consequences.

Faction is equally important. Horde and Alliance remain opposing factions, and players should not assume that characters on different factions can join the same guild or participate in ordinary group activities together.

RUIN recommendation: Confirm the intended ruleset and faction before creating your primary character. Use the appropriate Discord channels to coordinate guild membership, class selection, and launch participation.

7.2. World PvP — How to Survive, Fight, and Win

World PvP is more than encountering an opposing player while questing. It is a contest over movement, information, territory, resources, objectives, and the ability to control the conditions under which a fight takes place. For RUIN, the objective is to build coordinated groups that can operate independently, respond quickly to threats, and work together when a larger engagement develops.

Understanding World PvP

On the PvP Ruleset, members should expect hostile encounters while travelling through contested and enemy territory. On Normal and Roleplay rulesets, players can participate in PvP by enabling their PvP flag. The choice of ruleset therefore changes the frequency and risk of open-world encounters.

World PvP can occur while travelling between quest hubs, gathering resources, completing elite objectives, entering dungeons, competing for rare spawns, supporting guildmates, or moving through zones with an established opposing presence.

The Fundamentals of Winning Open-World Encounters

  • 1. Information before engagement. Identify enemy numbers, classes, approximate levels, and likely reinforcements before committing.
  • 2. Positioning and terrain. Use elevation, line of sight, narrow passages, buildings, cliffs, and escape routes.
  • 3. Target selection. Focus fire on a priority target rather than allowing everyone to attack independently.
  • 4. Crowd control. Polymorph, Fear, Banish, Roots, stuns, interrupts, and slows can determine the outcome.
  • 5. Defensive cooldowns. Learn when to use them to survive a burst, protect a healer, or escape a disadvantageous fight.
  • 6. Communication. Report enemy positions, numbers, direction of travel, and class composition with short, accurate callouts.
  • 7. Disengagement. Recognize when the group has achieved its objective or when retreat is the correct decision.

Class Roles in World PvP

  • Warriors: Melee pressure, target disruption, interrupts, and sustained combat.
  • Rogues: Scouting, stealth, ambushes, control, and target isolation.
  • Mages: Crowd control, burst damage, slows, and area denial.
  • Warlocks: Sustained pressure, damage-over-time, fear, curses, and pets.
  • Priests: Healing, dispels, defensive support, and offensive pressure.
  • Paladins: Defensive support, healing, protection, and group utility.
  • Hunters: Ranged pressure, scouting, traps, and control of distance.
  • Shamans: Healing, totems, interrupts, elemental pressure, and group utility.
  • Druids: Mobility, healing, control, stealth, and adaptability.

World PvP Preparation Checklist

  • Keep appropriate healing potions and consumables available.
  • Carry bandages and learn First Aid.
  • Maintain adequate ammunition, reagents, food, and water.
  • Set useful keybinds for interrupts, crowd control, and defensive abilities.
  • Know how to communicate enemy positions quickly through Discord.
  • Understand your class’s escape options and defensive cooldowns.
  • Do not carry unnecessary valuables into high-risk areas.

Battle for the Darkspear Islands

Forever introduces the Battle for the Darkspear Islands, a 15-versus-15 battleground located off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh. The battleground is available for levels 30–60. Teams compete for four strategic capture points and a central flag. The first team to reach 2,000 points wins. Players can develop reputation with the Darkspear Raiders or Theramore Expeditionary Force. Members should prioritize objective control over pure deathmatching.

Recommended PvP Creators and Analysts

  • Countdown to Classic: Long-form discussion of Classic Warcraft systems and developer interviews.
  • Savix: PvP-focused commentary on class matchups and practical combat.
  • Tips Out: Classic WoW community, PvP, and guild organization.
  • Kargoz: Class selection, leveling, and PvP analysis.
  • Force Gaming: Broad overviews of major systems and updates.

7.3. Leveling from 1 to 60 — A Practical Progression Strategy

Forever expands the original level 1–60 journey with more than 1,000 new quests, reimagined zones, and nine new five-player dungeons. The goal should not be to race blindly through the world. Members should build characters efficiently while learning their class, collecting useful equipment, developing professions, and discovering the new content.

Leveling Principles

  • Complete your starting zone and establish early flight paths.
  • Group quests by location to reduce unnecessary travel.
  • Use flight paths, boats, and other transportation as early as practical.
  • Group for elite quests and difficult objectives.
  • Use dungeons deliberately with relevant quests collected first.
  • Upgrade weapons regularly, especially for physical damage classes.
  • Train important abilities and track gold requirements.
  • Manage downtime with food, water, and bandages.
  • Keep professions progressing while travelling.

New and Reimagined Leveling Areas

  • Zephras Isle: Level 1–12 starting experience for Skyborne characters.
  • Riverglades: More than 150 quests concentrated around the mid-30s to mid-40s.
  • Shen’dralas: Connects Mulgore and Desolace with Eldre’Thalas, Dire Maul, and centaur lore.
  • Mount Hyjal: Endgame-focused zone tied to the aftermath of Archimonde’s defeat.

New Dungeons

Forever introduces nine new five-player dungeons spanning the leveling journey.

Eastern Kingdoms: Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site, City of Dalaran, The Drowned City, Krol’dok Stronghold.

Kalimdor: Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold, Shaper’s Terrace.

Recommended Leveling Resources

Class-Specific Leveling Creators

  • DonTheCrown, Kargoz, yumytv, LudiDeo, Rogue’s Diary, and the broader Mobalytics contributor library.

The Legacy System

Forever introduces account-wide horizontal progression through the Legacy System. Members should learn which objectives can be completed naturally while leveling. Character advantages can be unlocked through a single character. Official resource: Blizzard — Deep Dive Panel Recap.

7.4. Professions — Personal Progression and Guild Infrastructure

Professions provide equipment, consumables, materials, and new utility through the Camping system. Blizzard has expanded profession crafting with hundreds of new recipes and profession-specific campsite objects.

Choosing Professions

  • Engineering + Mining: Strong for PvP characters (explosives, gadgets, self-gathered materials).
  • Alchemy + Herbalism: Potion and elixir production with self-gathered ingredients.
  • Blacksmithing + Mining: Metal equipment and crafted items.
  • Leatherworking + Skinning: Leather armor and related goods.
  • Tailoring + Enchanting: Cloth gear and disenchanting for materials.
  • Gathering professions (Herbalism, Mining, Skinning) for personal income and guild support.

Profession Campsites — A New Guild Opportunity

The Camping system turns the Basic Campfire into a shared campsite. Nearby players can contribute profession-crafted objects that provide useful services and temporary benefits. Up to three special objects can be contributed. Examples include Blacksmithing’s Sharpening Wheel (Attack Power), Tailoring’s Faction Banner (Spirit), Herbalism’s Incense Candle (Intellect), Alchemy Laboratory, Leatherworking’s Tanning Rack, and Engineering utility bots.

Professions and Guild Cooperation

RUIN should identify members with key professions, record useful recipes, coordinate material exchanges, and maintain a list of PvP consumables and campsite services.

Profession Resources

7.5. Addons — A Reliable Forever Installation and Utility Suite

Forever uses its own updated client and addon environment (interface number 16001). Members must verify that any addon specifically supports World of Warcraft: Forever. Modern client restrictions prevent free reading of combat state and gameplay automation.

Recommended Core Addons

  • Questie — Quest tracking and map assistance.
  • Details! — Combat statistics (where supported).
  • Baganator — Inventory organization.
  • Leatrix Plus — Quality-of-life options.
  • DBM or BigWigs — Encounter warnings (Forever-compatible versions).
  • TomTom — Navigation (if available).
  • ChronoDex — Profession tracking (verify compatibility).

Immersion and Quest Presentation

  • Dialogue UI, Spoken, and Forever Quest Tint.

Start with a small number of essential addons, test them, and add more only when there is a clear benefit. Do not assume WeakAuras or older combat automation tools function as they did in previous Classic versions.

Installation and Maintenance

  1. Open the official Battle.net launcher and select World of Warcraft: Forever.
  2. Install only from trusted sources (CurseForge or official GitHub).
  3. Confirm the version specifically supports Forever.
  4. Test in a safe environment before relying on the addon in groups or PvP.

Recommended Addon Resources

7.6. Class Builds, Gear, and Character Development

Forever’s class changes mean members should not automatically copy old Vanilla or Classic Era builds. Separate advice into leveling builds, PvP builds, and PvE builds. A strong raid build is not necessarily the best open-world PvP choice.

Central starting library: Mobalytics — World of Warcraft: Forever Guides. Do not treat tier lists as permanent truth.

7.7. Gold, the Auction House, and the Economy

Collect gathering materials while travelling, compare vendor and auction prices, keep gold for training and mounts, and use professions to support guild needs. Track market prices over time.

7.8. News, Research, and Content Producers

Check the source and date of any claim. Beta information, datamined details, and Classic Era guides may not reflect the launch client.

Tier 1 — Official Blizzard Information

Tier 2 — Specialist Guides and Reference Libraries

Tier 3 — Video Creators, Podcasts, and Analysis

  • Force Gaming, Bellular Warcraft, Countdown to Classic, Savix, Tips Out, Kargoz, DonTheCrown, SignsOfKelani.

7.9. RUIN’s Recommended Information Workflow

For each significant topic, record the topic, source, version, date checked, evidence type, confidence level, and practical value. Suggested knowledge base categories: World PvP, Leveling, Professions, Addons, Classes, Dungeons and Raids, News and Patch Intelligence.

7.10. Member Contributions and Community Knowledge

Members are encouraged to submit leveling routes, class builds with explanations, PvP observations, profession recipes, verified addon reports, and useful external resources. Unverified recommendations should be clearly labelled.

7.11. RUIN Priorities for the First Weeks of Forever

  1. Establish clear ruleset and faction coordination.
  2. Build a reliable PvP knowledge base (class roles, communication, consumables, Darkspear Islands).
  3. Publish practical leveling resources by class and faction.
  4. Identify profession coverage and campsite capabilities.
  5. Standardize a small, tested, Forever-compatible addon suite.
  6. Maintain a creator and news directory.
  7. Keep documentation version-aware and mark outdated information clearly.

The objective is to make RUIN a useful source of knowledge and coordination for its members. We should help returning veterans get back into the game, help new players understand its systems, and give experienced players the resources to improve their performance. World of Warcraft: Forever is a long-term world. Our preparation should reflect that.
